Support & Talk

Date | First Thursday of the month

Time | 11.15am

Where | Joy of Flora, 10 Rosetta Street, West Croydon

We know that people sometimes struggle to ask for help, we are providing an informal opportunity for people to come together and ask for help with anything on a practical level or even emotion level, from odd jobs around the house, to a listening year. It is something you would feel comfortable asking a friend to do. We are also encouraging people to put forward anything they can offer to others.

From previous catch ups some conversations and offers included, free life coaching, yoga therapy sessions for kids, ready made meals, cleaning someone’s fish pond, and the need to “adopt a granny”, with one of our friends agreeing to meet a five year old who has no grandparents in Adelaide. There are no expectations, it is a friendly environment, join us to chat. Even if you feel you have nothing to offer, (everyone does have something to offer), even if it is just a listening ear.

Our new programs Connections Across Generations (CAG) aims to increase people's well-being and positively impact mental heath through engaging in fun activities, that also allow for conversations, and people to get to know each other. The consequent forming of friendships can empower people to understand their own mental health and be supportive of others. This series is supported by an Australia Post Community Grant 2020.

"Our community grants program is an extension of the important role we play in connecting Australians right across the country. The program allows us to work with organisations that are making a difference in their local areas through projects that help their communities thrive". Australia Post.
